Have you ever been so sick and thought it would never end? Hurt so bad it brought tears to your eyes? Wondered why the medicine was hardly helping? That was my case last week. (Which is why I didn’t post anything). It was a pretty rough week. However, it did one good thing. It helped me appreciate when I am healthy.
So far I have been blessed with pretty good health. And to my shame, a lot of times I take it for granted. I should make a point to thank the Lord often for my health, not just pray for healing when I don’t have good health. “In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you” (I Thessalonians 5:26).
There are many people struggling with health issues. Many who hurt far more and for far longer than I did. Many who wonder if they will ever feel good. Ones with terminal diseases. Ones with lifelong issues. But there are many who have good health. Ones who should be thankful to the Lord for a measure of good health. Ones who should pray for those who are hurting.
The Lord is good. All the time. In good health or poor. May we be thankful. May we pray for others.
